For more than 30 years I’ve been enthralled by the magic and escapism of video games. From the highly-pixelated 2D graphics and simple but addictive gaming concepts of the humble Atari 2600 and Sinclair Spectrum, to the colourful sprites, memorable music and innovative ideas of the Amiga, to the sophisticated multiplayer 3D worlds of the modern gaming system, I’ve always loved gaming.

I have contributed to Gaming Respawn, Retro Video Gamer and the now defunct n3rdabl3. I enjoy writing about retrogaming and modern indie titles as well as more mainstream PC games.

I’m passionate about the Amiga and will forever rue the day I sold my heavily-upgraded A1200 along with hundreds of classic games. I love all things pixel art, chiptune, and synthwave. I’m hopelessly addicted to coffee ☕

Systems I’ve owned and adored over the years: Atari 2600, Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2, Amstrad CPC 464, Sega Mega Drive, Commodore Amiga 1200, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, countless PCs (self-built, of course!), Raspberry Pi.

Favourite games of all time (unordered, non-exhaustive!!!): UFO: Enemy Unknown (Amiga), Cannon Fodder (Amiga), Another World (Amiga), The Chaos Engine (Amiga), Sensible World of Soccer (Amiga), Flashback (Amiga), Frontier: Elite 2 (Amiga), Robocop (Spectrum), Alien Breed series (Amiga), Dune II (Amiga), Syndicate (Amiga), The Settlers (Amiga), Theme Park (Amiga), Rebelstar (Amstrad CPC), Killing Floor 1 & 2 (PC), Portal 1 & 2 (PC), Lemmings (Amiga), Out Run (Arcade), Worms series (various), Wings (Amiga), Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PC), Asteroids (Atari 2600), Half-Life 1 & 2 (PC), The Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 (Amiga), Maniac Mansion (Amiga), Elite: Dangerous (PC), Mario Kart: Double Dash (Game Cube), Silent Hill 2 (PS2), Time Splitters 1, 2 & 3 (PS2), Super Mario Bros. (Arcade/NES), Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 (Mega Drive), James Pond II: Robocod (Amiga), Pinball Dreams, Fantasies & Illusions (Amiga), Treasure Island Dizzy (Spectrum), Streets of Rage (Mega Drive), Fred (Spectrum), Hitman: Blood Money (PC), Rome: Total War (PC), Max Payne 1 & 2 (PC), Civilization (Amiga), Metal Gear Solid (PS1), Resident Evil 1 & 2 (PS1), Starcraft (PC), S.T.A.L.K.E.R series (PC), Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 (PC), Time Crisis 1 & 2 (Arcade) … you get the general idea 😀

  1. I came here because I couldn’t find a way at your Elite Dangerous guide to thank you for your work in creating such an excellent resource for players. I’m only a few months into the game but almost all the questions I have asked on forums could have been answered if I had known of your guide. I’ll do my best to promote it to other newcomers.

    1. Thanks, glad you find the guide useful. You should also be able to make comments at the very end of the guide, but no worries about posting here 😀
